Dr David R. Wood
David R Wood was born to
Robert and Edna Wood on August 12, 1947. As a child, he lived in the Readfield
area and attended local schools. He was honored to attend Kents Hill Preparatory
School and graduated from Williams High School in Oakland Maine.
Dr Wood attended the University of Maine. First with evening
classes in Augusta while working at a Waterville Bank full time. He may
have started college a little later than most, but finished with honors and then
went on to attend medical school in Kansas City, Missouri where he also
graduated with honors being third in his class of 165 students.
Following medical school as a part of the Army Scholarship
Program, he was assigned to William Beaumont Medical Center in El Paso, Texas
for a rotating internship and Internal Medicine Residency.
Upon completion of his
Internal Medicine Residency
program Dr. Wood was assigned to the
Internal Medicine Clinic at
Brook Army Medical Center
located in
San Antonio, Texas.
He went into private practice on the south side of San
Antonio, where he continues to practice medicine.
Dr. Wood has written and published two books. The first is entitled Awake,
Arise and Triumph, Book I - God's Original Intent. The second book is entitled
Awake, Arise and Triumph, Book II - God's Road to Redemption. Both books are

He and his wife Patti, the former Patricia Snow of
Oakland, Maine, live south of San Antonio, Texas. They have three grown children
and several grandchildren. David and Patti by the leadership of the
Holy Spirit, by the grace
of God are the creators of Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc..
