Hi Everyone,
Can you
believe Christmas is almost here? What an exciting time of the year! But
what makes it so exciting? Getting gifts, giving gifts, eating wonderful
meals, fixing wonderful meals. No what makes it exciting about Christmas
is family. Have you ever wondered why this is so? I believe it has to do
with our Heavenly Father who is love as it says in I John 4:7-8. When Love
created Man he did so because he wanted to have a family. He wanted people
who would of their own free will choose to love him. It seemed like it was
a disaster when Adam chose to accept what this world had to offer rather
than follow the commandment Love had given him. It would have been
wonderful if the Garden of Eden could have been all that Love wanted it to
be right then and there. After all Love's plan was for the perfectness of
the garden to expand and cover all the earth. Love wanted to continue to
visit with us face to face as he did with the Adams. We will not call her
Eve here because she did not get that name until after the curse was upon
the earth due to their disobedience.
Love's next
choice of a family was Abraham who would teach his children the ways of Love
so they could continue to walk in the Blessing. We know from history that
the love of family became corrupted again. But was this Love's original
plan. Not hardly! He was not in heaven wondering what he would do next
because before the foundation of the world it was all planned for Jesus to
come and complete the work, walk in perfect love and always do the will of
the father.
So because
of the little baby born in Bethlehem's manger, because of the man who led a
sinless life and paid the price for all sin, because he then died and went
into hell and took the keys of death, hell and the grave away from Satan,
and led captivity captive; that is he preached the gospel to the Old
Testament saints who were held in Abraham's bosom and when they were told
the good news they believed and he took them to heaven with him. He then
took his own precious blood and placed it on the mercy seat for our
redemption. Redemption means purchased back again. That is right because
Loves own son did all this for us; we have once again regained our son ship
with Love. He is our God and we are his family. We have a God who not
only is Love but who pours out that love to us over and over again filling
us with the third person of the trinity allowing us to live,breath and have
our being in Him. What a wonderful family we have: God our Father, Jesus
our Brother , the Holy Spirit our comforter and all of heaven waiting for us
to take our place and put Satan under Jesus feet and then God will again
walk and talk with us face to face.
I know I am
going to enjoy being with my family during the holiday season. I have three
grown children and seven grandchildren. We have a brand new grand daughter
added to our fold; that now makes it four to three in favor of the boys.
As many as possible will come together for celebration of the birth of Jesus
and enjoy face to face conversation with each other just as our heavenly
father looks forward to the time he will see us face to face and we can once
again visit in the cool of the day.
