MY PRAYER FOR YOU – PART THREE

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior the Lord Jesus Christ!  I realize that this article is late for those of you that have been looking for it and I ask your forgiveness.  I have been putting a lot of energy the last month or two into my new book.  This new book will cover the time from the fall of mankind to the cross of Calvary.  The title will be; Awake, Arise and Triumph, Book 2 – God’s Road to Redemption.  I think you will find this book better than the first.  God is so good to give us revelation, take the cover off, of His Word.  We have the best thing going in the earth far and away, give Him thanks.  I will now continue with our text from the New Testament Book of Ephesians.  Let us review our Scripture text.

Ephesians 1:15-23 (KJV)
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

The Apostle Paul is telling the Church at Ephesus by letter that he has heard of their faith in the Lord Jesus and of their love for the saints (vs15).  Please understand that nothing happens without faith and the power of faith is love.

Galatians 5:6 (AMP)
6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.

So the underpinning of all things is love.  We all, daily, need to examine our love walk.  Both our attitude towards God and His love for us but how we exercise our love toward Him, our brethren in the Lord and all others.

We are sons of the Most High God by adoption through His Son Jesus Christ.  Whatever He is so are we as sons.  What a deal.  Now understand we are not and will never be omnipotent, omnipresent or omniscient.  We will never be God but we are in His image and likeness so we are like Him in every other way.  The Psalmist tells us that we are made just a little lower than Elohiym.  What a deal!

Psalms 8:5 (AMP)
5 Yet You have made him but a little lower than God [or heavenly beings], and You have crowned him with glory and honor.

We are not like angels or even in the angelic class of beings.  Angels are created beings.  We are made not created.

Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

You and I are spirit, soul and body.  Our body was made of the dirt (dust of the earth) and our spirit and soul was provided by the eternal God.  The Scripture says that “the LORD God” “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”  The term living soul encompasses both the spirit and the soul.  This spirit and soul is a part of God, the Triune God Himself.

Back to love.  You thought I had lost my way didn’t you?  Man was born of Love in the beginning and in the new creation.  God is Love (1 John 4:8, 16).

1 John 4:7-9 (KJV)
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

I think you can see quite quickly from this passage that we are born of love (God) and that our relationship with Him over time is directly dependent on the love walk.  We have to both receive His love and express that out through our lives.

Ephesians 3:14-21 (KJV)
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

In the preceding passage verse sixteen we see that we are eligible for a grant which is a part of the riches of God’s goodness and will result in a strengthening and impartation of power by the Holy Spirit to our spirit man.  A grant is free but has stipulations for its use.  Continuing in verse seventeen we find that “Christ” the anointed One and His anointing are to dwell in our middle man the soul by faith.  The dwelling of the anointing in our middle man may not be perceived y the flesh but must be accepted and acted upon by faith.  Then Paul continues to tell that when we are rooted and grounded in love we will comprehend (verse eighteen) the extent of the love of Christ and then we can be filled with all the fulness of God (verse nineteen).  Continuing in the next verse Paul says that the power we can exercise, the abundance in our lives of all things is directly dependent on our being rooted and grounded in love and understanding His love.

Now let us examine the final verse of Chapter three.  The word him which is not capitalized is referring to God the Father.  What about the word glory?  I will give you a simple definition which you can utilize most times that you see this word in Scripture.  The simplest definition is that the glory of God is the goodness of God.  The glory is always a visible manifestation.  It may be a visible cloud or haziness in your Church or other setting.  It may be a manifestation such as someone being healed, set free of demonic oppression or the observable changes after salvation or the infilling of the Holy Spirit.  The glory of God is also honor, riches and power.  We could then paraphrase this verse as follows; Unto him (you Father) be glory (honor, riches, power, manifested presence, and manifested goodness) in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

You see Jesus came and purchased us back and the ability to exercise dominion and to subdue the earth.  Then He immediately passed it back to us to get done what He told us in the beginning (Genesis 1 & 2).  If it is going to get done in the earth it is going to happen through willing vessels, you and me.  If God is to have a manifested presence in the earth we must allow Him.  If His goodness is to manifest in our Churches and lives we must bring it forth by the meditations of our hearts, the words of our mouths motivated by a love of God and for our fellowman.  If we are honored, have riches and exercise power than God will be honored, be rich in the earth and able to exercise power through us.  As Joshua said (Joshua 18:2-3); how long will you be slack to claim your inheritance.
