THE LIGHT
WORDS – THE THIRD SPIRITUAL LAW
By Dr. David R. Wood
Greetings in the
name of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! He is so good! We will be
moving forward with our discussion of Spiritual Law this month (March 2010) by
focusing on words. I trust that this article finds you prosperous and in good
health because you have been continuously renewing your mind to the Word of God.
3 John 1:2-3 (KJV)
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in
health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the
truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
Notice how
intimately linked our prosperity and our health is linked with a prosperous
soul. The soul here is the mind, the will and the emotions. The soul is our
middle man. The soul is the one who decides whether to follow the Spirit or the
flesh. Remember the way of the flesh is death (Galatians 6:8). What causes our
soul (mind, will, emotions) to make good, Godly decisions? We make good and
Godly decisions by renewing of the mind and engrafting the Word of God.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
James 1:21
(KJV)
21
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and
receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
When the
Scripture says to receive the word of God with meekness (humility) it means that
you are to submit your life entirely to that Word of God. You are to receive it
with no doubt. The biblically humble person is the most powerful person
possible in the earth and God can flow without restraint (John 3:34).
1 Peter 5:5-8 (KJV)
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all
of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God
resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he
may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a
roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Remember Daniel,
he was a humble man and God shut the mouth of the lions and he became the second
most powerful man in the nation. Daniel was a man taken captive, a slave, who
rose to a very powerful position like Joseph before him in Egypt and he became a
very trusted advisor to more then one king. If you do ALL that this Scripture
from first Peter says than you can have the same result. The Word is first
place!
Also, I want you
to notice the close association of our prosperity, our health, the prosperity of
our soul and the truth. In the third John Scripture above the Elder John says
that walking in the truth is the key (3 John 1:3). Briefly, the truth is the
Word of God (John 17:17), the Holy Spirit of God (John 14:17), love (Psalm
119:142) and the Lord Jesus (John 14:6). To walk in the truth means that your
life demonstrates the Word of God in action, is Spirit led, testifies of agape
(God kind of love) love and is a testimony of Jesus. All of this one way or the
other has to do with the word of God, The Word.
All words are
powerful but the words of the believer are as high as it gets in the earth when
they are the words of God. Our words set and determine the course of our
lives. Just as God (Jesus) framed the worlds by the Word of God (Hebrews 11:3)
so do our words frame our world. Just look at the example of the Israelites
whom God had brought out of bondage in Egypt.
Numbers 14:1-4 (KJV)
1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the
people wept that night.
2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against
Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in
the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
3 And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by
the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better
for us to return into Egypt?
4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us
return into Egypt.
Numbers 14:28-31
(KJV)
28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye
have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:
29 Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were
numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and
upward, which have murmured against me,
30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which
I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua
the son of Nun.
31 But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I
bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.
In the first
passage (Numbers 14:1-4) the twelve spies have returned and ten gave an evil
report and two (Joshua and Caleb) gave a good report. The people have chosen
the evil report; they chose to doubt the Word of God. They chose not to believe
and act upon the Word of God. The people said some things and you can see that
God had no choice but to allow their words to be performed (Numbers 14:28-31).
God says in Numbers 14:31 that they despised His promise of the land. Do you
and I despise promises that we see in the Word? do we make little of them or do
we cause them to occupy first place in our thinking and actions?
God tells us
that His Word is more powerful than His name.
Psalms 138:2 (KJV)
2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy
lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy
name.
There is
absolutely nothing more powerful then saying what God says. So why don’t we do
that? Doubt, unbelief! Repent and make the Word first place. We are to
conduct our lives by words preferably the words of God. God established the
pattern for us in the beginning.
Genesis 1:3 (KJV)
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Genesis 1:6 (KJV)
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the
waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Genesis 1:9 (KJV)
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered
together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Then God said we
are going to make a man and he is going to look like us and act like us.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over
every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Man was given dominion (to prevail against, reign
over, to make, to rule, and take over) over all the earth with the words of his
mouth. When the LORD God made man, the part that was in His image and likeness
was done by the words, the breath of His mouth, of His mouth.
Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
When the
Scripture says here that God breathed into his nostrils it is saying that God
got in the face of the man and spoke life, imparted the spirit and soul of the
man. We are three part being, which is spirit, soul and body. The spirit and
soul were spoken into the body. The body is from the earth. This is the only
creature that has dominion in the earth. In Genesis 2:7 the word LORD is the
eternal God so were made eternal creatures. The word God is Elohim which is the
creator God so we are creative in His image and likeness, spirit, soul and body.
So let us do as
our Father demonstrated, stand up, speak His Word and watch the Garden of Eden
form in your life and the lives of those God sends you to.
Romans
4:17 (KJV)
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,)
before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead,
and calleth those things which be not as though they
were.
2 Corinthians
4:13 (KJV)
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is
written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and
therefore speak;
I trust this
teaching has blessed (empowered) you to hear the Word, engraft the Word, to
renew your mind (from darkness to light) and most importantly do the Word.
There is of course much more that could be said but understand you have what you
have said. If your life is perfect, heaven on the earth, keep saying the same
thing but if it is not, change your words and you will change your world and
then you can finally do the work of God.
Until next
month.
Numbers 6:24-26
(KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
