THE LIGHT
ARE YOU NAKED? – PART FIVE
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! The month of May is
come and here in South Texas so is summer. We are rapidly approaching the
National Day of Prayer, the 7th of May. I trust that all of you will
in some way or other honor God that day with prayer concerning America. If
there was ever a time for prayer concerning our nation it is certainly now for
gross darkness is truly over the land. I for one believe that a great revival
of God’s people is at hand, accompanied by a wonderful Regathering of those who
have been scattered from their fold. Finally, there will be an awakening to God
like never before. Let these things be now Lord Jesus! This month we are
continuing with our study of the clothing that God has provided. Some He put on
us but much of it we must acquire and put on, on purpose.
At salvation God so wonderfully provides us with garments of salvation and a
robe of righteousness.
Isaiah 61:10 (KJV)
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my
God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me
with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with
ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Let me remind you that in the Church, the body of Christ, we are made kings and
priests at salvation.
Revelation 1:6 (KJV)
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him
be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
I believe that the garments of salvation are the priestly garments. Remember
the priests of old were the purveyors or instruments of salvation. The High
Priest was the one to bring the sacrifice into the Most Holy Place once each
year for the sins of the people on the Day of Atonement. Jesus is our High
Priest but unlike the High Priests of old He entered once for all.
Hebrews 10:10 (KJV)
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the
body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Now let us look at the garments of the priests of the Old Covenant.
Exodus 28:4-5 (KJV)
4 And these are the garments which they shall make; a
breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a
girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons,
that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
5 And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and
fine linen.
Exodus 28:42 (KJV)
42 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness;
from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:
I am sure you noted there are several items noted that we would not consider as
garments like the breastplate, a mitre and a girdle (belt). The others however
we would consider as garments and include the ephod (outer most garment), the
robe, the coat and the linen breeches. This is four garments. This number of
four is important. Read the following verse.
John 19:23 (KJV)
23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his
garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his
coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
At the foot of the cross the soldiers were gambling for His garments and there
were four. At the very moment that He, Jesus, our High Priest, is providing for
our salvation, the Scripture take the time to tell us there are four garments.
What a book! Now let us deal for a moment with the robe of righteousness. Much
of this is covered in prior letters so it may be useful to review for I will be
brief here. Righteousness is not just right standing with God or doing things
God’s way. If we stop there we are far short of what He did and what we must
know and act upon. Righteousness is a sinless state. In the sinless state,
such as Adam before the fall and Jesus in the earth and following, we have once
again all authority and all power! This makes all the difference dear saints of
the living God. Now, who possesses authority and power? Kings! What are you?
A king!
As we saw in Exodus 28:4 these is a robe in the midst of the priestly robes.
The colors of the garments were according to verse five, gold, and blue, and
purple, and scarlet all of fine linen. The following verse describes the robe
further.
Exodus 28:31-33 (KJV)
31 And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.
32 And there shall be an hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof:
it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the
hole of an habergeon, that it be not rent.
33 And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates
of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the hem
thereof; and bells of gold between them round about:
The robe itself is all blue representative of the abode of God and the Holy
Spirit. We are covered, anointed by the Holy Spirit! Now on the hem there are
pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet intermixed with bells of
gold. The purple is representative of royalty, the scarlet represents the sins
that were removed by the cleansing blood of Jesus (Isaiah 1:18). Once the sins
are removed we are in the place of Jesus with all authority and all power.
Before you throw your hands in the air with frustration, let me remind you that
we are not and will not be in place of the Almighty God who is all powerful, all
knowing and everywhere present. The pomegranate contains many seeds some say
representative of the law. There are 613 laws and the pomegranate contains more
or less that number. The bells are looking forward to the children of promise,
you and me. Gold is purified by fire, that fire is the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 2:5 (KJV)
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with
Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Saved by grace, that is the work of the Holy Spirit!
2 Timothy 1:10 (KJV)
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus
Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel:
John 5:24 (KJV)
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He
that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life,
and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
This purification by the fire of God (Holy Spirit) and our maintenance of this
pure (holy) state is essential to our walk with God. We are absolutely sinless
at salvation but we must maintain that state on purpose. Look at the following
verse.
John 14:30 (KJV)
30 Hereafter I will not talk much
with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
We must say as Jesus said; the princes of this world (demonic personalities) are
coming to test me but they have no stronghold in me. If they have a stronghold
in us they can do damage in our lives even our persons (body). If not they can
only talk to us like Satan talked with Jesus during the temptation in the
wilderness. Consider and meditate the following verse.
Proverbs 26:2 (KJV)
2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse
causeless shall not come.
I find this a very sobering verse for it says that unless there is a cause, that
is a breach in our hedge, the curse can not do anything in our lives. The
curse, the demonic personalities, can only talk to us and see if they can
intimidate or trick us. So we could say of this mystery of the pomegranates and
golden bells that it represents a prophetic message of a move from the law to
grace. Mankind uplifted by the Holy Spirit. That is we are restored at
salvation to the god class, a new creature in Christ Jesus, once again able to
carry out the mandate of old. Is not this a wonderful book!
Now let us return back to the robe of righteousness before I conclude this
letter. As usual I have not gotten as far as I intended but what is written is
by the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Notice that all the clothing is of fine
linen. Meditate the following verse.
Revelation 19:8 (KJV)
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen,
clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
So, the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints or we could say represents
the sinless state of the redeemed. In that sinless state we have the authority
and the power given Adam which was restored by Jesus the head of the Church.
Finally, concerning the robe of righteousness consider that it is seamless.
This robe of old was seamless and the robe of Jesus THE KING was also seamless.
John 19:23 (KJV)
23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his
garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his
coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
Like a circle, a seamless garment has no end.
Isaiah 9:7 (KJV)
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall
be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and
to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Luke 1:33 (KJV)
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his
kingdom there shall be no end.
We will continue with this study next month, I trust that it is enlarging your
understanding not just of the Word of God but who each one of us are in Jesus.
Nothing could stand before Jesus in His earthly walk and so is it with us as
well. But we must be disciples following the Word meticulously maintaining that
sinless state so that all the devil and his evil cohorts can do is talk to us.
Brothers and sisters in Christ do not carry on conversations with the enemy.
That is what Adam did and look at the mess that followed (Genesis 3:1-6).
Until next time we love you and I pronounce the blessing given to Aaron by Moses
from God to say over the people and impart to them that would receive the
wonderful consequences of the blessing.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
