THE CURSE BOWS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  We here at Eastern Gate Ministries International Incorporated are excited about the time we live in and the wonderful things that are to come.  Wonderful opportunities are at our door and many opportunities to show the exceeding wonderful goodness of our God awaits us in the days to come.  The Gospels are full of how Jesus dealt with the curse.  He did not shrink from it but confronted it and if the afflicted person would receive by faith He erased all evidence of the curse.

Luke 7:20-22 (KJV)
20 When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
22 Then Jesus answering said unto them,
Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

John the Baptist after he was put in prison had some doubt enter into his mind and as a result he sent some of his disciples to Jesus to confirm that He was indeed the Messiah.  Jesus did not answer the question directly but instead demonstrated that the anointing (Holy Spirit and Power) was upon Him.  These Old Testament saints knew that when sin entered mankind in the garden, it (sin) soon was come upon all men (Romans 5:12).  The result was that man lost authority and power in the earth.  Notice in Genesis 1:26, mankind was given dominion over all life (not other people) and over all the earth.  Dominion in the Old Covenant is authority in the New Covenant.  Jesus got that back in His work at Calvary (Matthew 28:18-20).  In Genesis 1:28 Adam was told to subdue the earth.  This ability was also lost when sin entered mankind.  This word subdue in the Old Covenant is the same as power in the New Covenant (Acts 1:8).  So we could say it like this; in the presence of sin there is no authority or power but in the absence of sin there is all authority and power.  The difference from Adam (before sin) and the believer today is that Adam could speak the Word of God and it would be done, today we speak the Word of God in Jesus name and it is done (1 John 5:14-15).  Jesus was free of all sin (Hebrews 4:15) therefore He walked in all authority and power.  Even given this, men had a choice but not all received the benefit and that is the same today (see Mark 6 below).

Hebrews 4:14-16 (KJV)
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Mark 6:2-6 (KJV)
2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
4 But Jesus said unto them,
A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 And he marvelled [wondered] because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Now, let us bring this down to us so that you will not go away from this article saying; “yeah but that was Jesus”.  We know that we all have sinned and may even sin after salvation from time to time.  Jesus has us covered on both accounts.

Hebrews 1:3 (KJV)
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

1 John 1:7-9 (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

In the eyes of God, we are sinless just as Jesus was sinless.  We are sinless in the earth because of Jesus.

Romans 3:23 (KJV)
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior that righteousness that was “unto all” came “upon” us and we all have the same righteousness or right standing with God.  Jesus who knew no sin became sin for us that we could have His righteousness and once again walk as Adam walked in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).  Praise His name!!  If you don’t have any question about Jesus’ righteousness, you can not have any question about yours.

Romans 3:22 (KJV)
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

So, when the Father looks at us, He sees Jesus and as long as we act like Jesus we get His results, praise the Lord (Acts 17:28)!  If the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him, They also dwell in us (Colossians 2:9).  If He could operate in the Spirit without limit so can you and I (John 3:34).  Jesus told us to do what He did; He was and is our example.  He is the Word (all 66 books of the Bible) and His life as displayed in the Gospels is the template for our life.  Eradicate the curse that tries to stand in your presence.  We have nothing to do with the curse, with darkness, get rid of it in the authority of Jesus name (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)!

John 14:12 (KJV)
12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Whatever you see Jesus doing, you and I can do also!  Jesus speaks of this again in His departing instructions to those disciples and to us on the Mount of Olives.

Mark 16:15-18 (KJV)
15 And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Believe the gospel, you are a kingdom child, act like it!

Stay tuned, we will return to this topic again next month.

As our Pastor says, I love you and God loves you and there is nothing you can do about it.
