The Light

THE LIGHT
ARE YOU NAKED? – PART
SEVEN
OR, I AM FULLY
CLOTHED AND ARMOURED!
Greetings precious
saints of the one and only living God. August is upon us and soon it will be
Christmas! I continue to urge all of you to pray for this nation. Since the
first of the year we are being thrown headlong in a financial (bailouts), moral
(Freedom of Choice Act), medical (so called Health reform) and spiritual
(pushing Israel to divide) mess. Due to the blindness of the unsaved American
voter and the laziness, fear, deception, rebellion and the idolatry of the
Christian voters we have a Congress that does not reflect Biblical values but
rather the values of the antichrist. Those values lead only to stealing,
killing and destroying. The antichrist through the United States Congress is
stealing your money, poised to kill more of the unborn, increase the suffering
and early death of the elderly and bringing destruction on American soil by not
honoring Israel. Please make your voice heard now by your Senators and your
Representative. I must speak clearly for the future of America is at stake,
judgment is at the door.
Now to this months
study. So far this year we have been studying the garments made available to us
by God and the armour of God. At salvation God clothed us with the garments of
salvation and covered us with the robe of righteousness.
Isaiah 61:10 (KJV)
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my
God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me
with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with
ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
He also made several
other garments or clothing available which we are responsible to put on, on
purpose. We are to be clothed with humility.
1 Peter 5:5 (KJV)
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all
of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God
resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
This piece of
clothing is vital. Just as submission to human authority and to God saved
Daniel in the lions den so does proper submission protect us from the devices of
the devil. We are to put on light.
Romans 13:12 (KJV)
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast
off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
In the process of
putting on the armour of light we must cast off the works of darkness, which
means we walk in the light as He is in the light.
1 John 1:7 (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us
from all sin.
We are to put on
Christ.
Just as Jesus said, if you have seen me you have seen the Father (John 14:9) so
should people who have seen you have seen Jesus.
Romans 13:14 (KJV)
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for
the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
We are to be covered
by the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:2-4 (KJV)
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty
wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it
sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to
speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
And finally among the
clothing is love.
Colossians 3:14 (KJV)
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the
bond of perfectness.
I really like how it
is rendered in the Amplified Bible. As I have said many times, if we are not
walking in the God kind of love, nothing will work in our lives. This verse in
the amplified brings that into focus.
Colossians 3:14 (AMP)
14 And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves
with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in
ideal harmony].
Now let us talk about
the armour.
Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of
his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be
able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and
having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and
watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
In the April letter I
talked about “having your loins girt about with truth”. The truth is the Word
of God, the Holy Spirit of God and the Love of God. What a trio! We are to be
filled up with these and covered over as well. Now for the remainder of this
letter we will talk about the breastplate of righteousness. This breastplate of
righteousness has its origins in the breastplate of judgment.
Exodus 28:30 (KJV)
30 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the
Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the LORD:
and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart
before the LORD continually.
Leviticus 8:8 (KJV)
8 And he put the breastplate upon him: also he put in the breastplate
the Urim and the Thummim.
When the High Priest
would wear this breastplate of judgment and bring the sacrifice for himself and
the people they were all declared righteous in the sight of God. This was the
atonement or covering of sin for a time. In the process of time Jesus came and
by His sacrifice we have redemption. Our sin is totally removed and we are made
righteous. To be righteous means not only that we have a right standing with
God but in that sinless state all authority and power given man in the garden is
ours again. Adam never completed the mandate God gave and now it is ours to
complete. I have discussed in prior letter how being made righteous has
restored authority (dominion) and power (ability to subdue) now in Christ Jesus.
Now what is this Urim
and Thummim that was in the breastplate of judgment? Urim represents light and
fire. Well you know who the light of the world is and He is our Saviour. The
word of God is our light. Also, if you study the fourth day of creation
carefully you will discover that light rules over darkness! Praise the Lord.
Now the fire is representative of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one
who cleansed us of sin, caused our dead spirit to live and He dwells within each
Christian speaking to the inner man, our spirit man, the real us. The Holy
Spirit is our teacher (John 16:13-14, 1 John 2:27). The Holy Spirit also leads
us.
Romans 8:14 (KJV)
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God.
That fire of the Holy
Ghost not only cleansed us of sin (in response to the finished work of Calvary)
but will cleanse us from the entire curse. At the name of Jesus the Holy Spirit
of God will remove all poverty, all sickness, all demonic oppression and
possession, mend broken families and the list goes on. To appreciate much of
what is in the curse read Deuteronomy 28:15 and following. The curse is
terrible. But look at what Jesus gave us in place of the curse. He gave us the
blessing. Read the first fourteen verses of Deuteronomy 28 to see a brief
description of the blessing.
Now what about the
Thummim? Thummim represents or speaks of completion, prosperity and innocence.
Does this not all sound real familiar? This is the finished work of salvation,
this is the rest of God, and this is shalom! In the eyes of the Father you are
complete in Jesus, you are prosperous in every area of life and you are
absolutely innocent. Think and say what God says and see the wonderful nature
of Jesus emerge in you, the plan of God all along. We have been predestined to
be conformed to the image of Jesus. (Romans 8:29) Now isn’t that interesting.
Read Genesis 1:26 where Elohim, the creator said, “Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness: and let them have dominion…over all the earth,” All that God
(Elohim) created Adam to be is ours but now in Christ Jesus. As you will see
below, we are filled with Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are partakers of His
divine nature. Remember Jesus is the creator.
John 1:1-3 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made
that was made.
Think of it this
way. The creation was in the imagination (the mind) of the Father, the Son
(which became flesh) spoke the words and the Holy Spirit accomplished the work.
This same person, this same power resides in us and we were created to be like
Him.
Colossians 2:9-10
(AMP)
9 For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to
dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature].
10 And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness
of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—Father, Son and Holy
Spirit—and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and
authority [of every angelic principality and power].
So the next time the
enemy comes by or temptation is in your view simply remember and say who you are
and avert your eye from the evil and speak and view only the good. You have on
(if you have taken it to yourself) the breastplate of righteousness. You are
righteous in the sight of God; you are in the light as He is in the light. You
walk in an authority and power that no demonic power or natural man can
successfully oppose. You have been and are being continually cleansed of sin by
the Holy Spirit of God as you humble yourself under His mighty hand and He is
teaching and leading you on God’s path. On God’s path there is no defeat. As
Acts 17:28 tells us; Acts 17:28 “For in him we live, and move, and have our
being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his
offspring.” Praise the Lord, He has made us complete in Him, we are prosperous
in every area of life in Him and we are innocent!!
Walk in it my
brothers and sisters. Until next month, the Lord empower and protect you, may
His goodness be seen all about you and may His wholeness in you be evident to
all.
