THE CURSE BOWS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS – PART TWO

I bring greetings from all of us at Eastern Gate Ministries International in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus.  Another month is upon us, September is here!  The year is speeding by and storms are rapidly approaching.  I am not just talking about the latest hurricane to hit the United States although that is part of it.  I am speaking of the result of unrighteousness or sin.  People all over the United States are looking at the condition of the economy, healthcare, defense and war but most are not looking at the condition of their heart or that of their leaders or prospective leaders.  We are interested in one thing only and that is the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).  The Scripture tells us that righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach or brings criticism (Proverbs 14:34).  Reproach or criticism are weak of a words, what it really brings is the curse.  Well what does all of this have to do with “The Curse Bows to Righteousness?”  Everything!  Righteousness is the result of the absence of sin and the curse is the result of the presence of sin.  Sin brings the curse, so anyone that seeks to continue sin like abortion will bring a curse not only on themselves but the nation.

Again, let us remember what happened in the beginning.  God had created the heavens and the earth and He had populated them.  Mankind in the image and likeness of God was in the earth.  Sin in the form of Satan (Lucifer before his fall) was in the earth but there was no sin in mankind until they partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  With the advent of sin in mankind the curse flooded the earth.

Genesis 1:26-28 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 3:6 (KJV)
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Other than to confront the Devil and keep him in his place there was no curse in the earth.  These people had authority (dominion) in all the earth; they looked like and acted like God.  Do you think God has anything to do with the curse?  No, of course not, just study Revelation chapter twelve and a multitude of other places.  The presence of sin brings down the shield (study Job), the hedge about us so the curse can come in and steal, kill and destroy in our lives (John 10:10).  Solomon in the Book of Proverbs tells us that the curse can not exist in our lives without a cause.

Proverbs 26:2 (KJV)
2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

The curse is not in our lives to teach us something or make us stronger, it is there due to sin and is designed to tear us down and ultimately take us to hell.  What does the Holy Spirit say to us through the Book of Hebrews?

Hebrews 4:1-3 (KJV)
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

The writer by inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God is referencing what happened when Moses sent the twelve spies into the Promised Land.  This is found in Numbers Chapter Thirteen.  Notice that because the tribe of Joseph is split there were thirteen tribes at the time and to my knowledge there are thirteen to this day.  In Biblical numerology thirteen is the number of depravity and rebellion and that is exactly what happened to the children of Israel after they followed the evil report brought by ten of the spies resulting in their wandering in the wilderness forty years.  It was a picture of what would happen to Israel until the end of days which is now.  The ten spies assured that they remained under the Law but the two righteous spies (Caleb and Joshua) spoke of the coming Messiah.  The day is soon at hand when all of Israel will be saved (Romans 11:26), that nation will not be destroyed, not now and not in the Tribulation periods.  Praise the name of our great Jehovah!  So what was the sin of the Nation of Israel when the twelve spies returned with their report?  It was the sins of unbelief and fear.

Hebrews 4:11 (KJV)
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

What is the rest of God?  It is the overflowing abundance of God available to us for the asking.  Unbelief is what happened to the people of Nazareth.

Mark 6:4-6 (KJV)
4 But Jesus said unto them,
A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

The children of Israel were also fearful of the people in the Promised Land.

Numbers 13:31-33 (KJV)
31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Unbelief (a failure to call the things that are not as though they are) and fear (a failure to believe and receive the love of God) allows, even invites, the curse to run rampant in our lives.

Revelation 21:7-8 (KJV)
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Remember;

John 10:10 (AMP)
10
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Oh Lord, let us not fall short with a heart and a mouth full of words of fear and unbelief.  So, what do we say then?  Thank you Jesus, here is my requisition to carry out your will oh Lord, I receive that cleansing blood, I am the righteousness of God.  This means that we have the same status with regard to sin as God.  Think about it and shout!  Until next time, we love you all!
